The Richard Grove Prize, named in honor of one of the ASAEH cofounders, is awarded by the Executive Committee of ASAEH to the best graduate research paper on the environmental history of South Asia each year.  Entries are encouraged from outside the field of history.  The award is determined by the Executive Committee acting as the jury, and the Grove Prize will be awarded during the first six months of each year.  Currently the Grove Prize is worth rs.5000.  Recent winners include:
